Within our wood routing range we have a selection of useful carpentry tools from trusted brands - Makita. Our routers and trimmers are ideal woodworking tools for shaping, trimming, channelling and bevelling wood.

Plunge Router for Hire

Our heavy duty router is a professional tool used by both joiners and DIY’ers alike, for grooving, recessing, rebating and template cutting in wood and plastics. This plunge router offers many handy features including, an adjustable depth system, a dust extraction facility and comfortable soft grip handles.  Our plunge router comes supplied with a guide, 30mm guide bush and spanner.

Laminate Trimmer for Hire

Our electric laminate trimmer offers and quick and effective means of cutting a flush or bevel edge to laminated block board worktops, floors and is ideal for trimming excess materials such as door strips. Its lightweight and compact design allows for single handed operation and it has an adjustable base.  Our laminate trimmer comes supplied with a spanner.  A transformer, extension lead and safety equipment are also available to hire and can be added to your basket during checkout. 

Worktop Jig for Hire

Our worktop jig provides templates for 45 and 90 degree male and female cuts. Simply use for routing, kitchens, bathrooms and worktops.

Safety Equipment

Always wear the necessary safety gear when you are using the equipment. We stock cover spectacles which easily fit over most prescription glasses and moulded cup masks which filter out at least 99% of airborne particles. Our masks are fully compliant to both EN149:2001 and A1:2009 standards.

Using a Router

  • Make sure you have read the handover guide and are confident using the machine before you start.
  • Make sure you are wearing all the necessary safety equipment before you begin operation - including eye protection, dust mask and ear defenders.
  • Check that no nails or screws are embedded into the wood before you begin.
  • Let the router run up to full speed before you lower it onto the wood.
  • Stop the machine and unplug it before you make any adjustments.
  • Make sure the ventilation slots do not get blocked up and are clear from sawdust.
