FAQs

Q - What is the Difference between Direct and Indirect Heaters?

  • Direct Heaters are designed for use in well ventilated areas. They can deliver large volumes of heated air. They are ideal for use in farm buildings, workshops, warehouses and building sites.

The heating process generates moisture in the air due to the combustion process. This makes them unsuitable for drying applications, or spaces where an increase in humidity could potentially cause damage to furniture or other items stored in that area.

  • Indirect Heaters are designed to produce large volumes of warm, dry air.  They can be used in large enclosed spaces with little ventilation - such as marquees, tents, shops, workshops and showrooms.

The heater itself is placed outside the area to be heated and the warm air is ducted into the area. Due to its unique flue system, all fumes and traces of moisture are expelled from the heating unit, allowing only clean and warm dry air to be produced. They are also ideal for use after floods or during construction projects when you need to accelerate the drying process. If you want the heater out of sight, or wish to limit the impact of the heater's noise, the unit can be placed up to 10 metres from the area you need to heat – simply using ducting pipes to transport the warm air to its destination.
