Magnetic Broaching Drills
A magnetic drill is a machine tool used for drilling holes in variety of metals. Magnetic drills can also be known as 'slugger', 'mag' or 'mag-base' drills. They are used when a handheld drill would not be powerful enough to drill into metal.
Broaching is a type of metalworking that involves a precision machining process. It uses a saw-like, toothed tool called a 'broach' to remove material and create shapes. Broaching machines have a whole host of applications, particularly in metal workshop settings, including making circular and non-circular holes, splines, keyways, or shaping flat surfaces. They are often used for working on small or medium-sized castings, screw machine parts, forgings and stampings.
Broaches can be expensive to buy, but they generally produce better results than other processes for high-quantity production runs -- and are available to hire from us.
Our heavy duty magnetic broaching drill is ideal for use in workshops to undertake professional broaching with high quality results. Just a quick, single pass creates superbly-formed, burr-free holes, making this machine very efficient. This machine is also fitted with a magnetic base and a safety chain / strap.
